Common questions
Is there a free trial, and do you need a card?
Yes to the trial, no to the card. You get 14 days and we never ask for payment details to start. The clock starts when you create your first property rather than when you sign up, so the evening you spend deciding is not trial time you have burned. If the fortnight runs out while you are still setting up and nobody has clocked in yet, the app offers you one extension on the spot — you do not have to email anyone for it.
How does per-room pricing work?
Each plan has a base fee that covers your first 28 rooms, then a per-room rate for rooms beyond that — and the rate drops as you add rooms, across three bands. It is never per employee: hotel staffing turns over fast, and per-user pricing punishes you for putting everyone on the clock, which is the opposite of what a time and attendance system is for. A 24-room motel pays the base fee only; a 70-room property pays the base fee plus its room bands.
Are there implementation or setup fees?
No. No implementation fees, ever — including portfolio rollouts. Hotel labor systems traditionally charge thousands of dollars in onboarding before you see value; we think that model is why independents got left behind.
What happens to my payroll process?
It doesn't change. ProfitClock produces approved hours; you keep running payroll wherever you run it today. The Smart plan adds a detailed payroll-ready export, import files shaped for ADP Workforce Now, Paychex Flex and Gusto, and a direct sync to Gusto that pushes approved hours for you without a file at all.
How do the annual prices work?
Pay annually and the whole schedule — base fee and every per-room band — drops by roughly 20%. At 40 rooms, Core goes from $99/mo to $79.20/mo and Smart from $157/mo to $125.60/mo. Portfolio is annual by default.
What does Portfolio pricing look like past 10 properties?
Custom — talk to us. Everything else stays the same: the same per-room bands, every Smart feature included, and no implementation fees.
Is there a free plan?
No. We publish our pricing and keep the model simple instead of building a free tier that's usually funded by payroll processing fees elsewhere; we'd rather be straightforwardly priced and built specifically for hotels. There is a free 14-day trial with no card required, so you can find out whether it earns its price before paying anything.
